The Jill Dando case has been brought back to the limelight after her convicted killer, Barry George, has won the right to appeal for the second time against his conviction.
The Crimewatch presenter was found lying on the doorstep of her home in west London with a singe bullet wound to her head in April 1999. She had died instantly.
Sentenced back in 2001, George has already served six years in jail, but new evidence has come to light about the uncertain reliability of the DNA found on a gun in George's possession. If George is found not guilty he will be able to apply for major compensation.
